🌽✨ Exciting Update from Ag in the Classroom! ✨🌽

Lauren, our Ag in the Classroom Coordinator, recently attended the Iowa Ag in the Classroom Conference in Des Moines—and what an experience it was!

During the two-day event, she had the opportunity to tour several incredible facilities across the Des Moines metro, including The Iowa Shelter, Kemin, and Meals on Wheels. Each stop offered a unique look into how agriculture plays a role in places we might not always expect.

For example—did you know the Iowa Shelter operates a shrimp farm? 🦐 Not exactly what comes to mind when you think of Iowa farming, but it’s an amazing reminder of how diverse and creative agriculture can be!

Lauren also participated in multiple workshops, gaining new insights, ideas, and hands-on learning to bring back and implement into our local programs.

A huge thank you to Iowa Agriculture Literacy Foundationand Iowa Ag in the Classroom for always offering such an amazing, meaningful conference. Your dedication to ag education makes a difference! 🌱📚

Overall, it was an inspiring and educational experience, and we can’t wait to share even more of what she learned with our community!

Due to the cancellation of tonight’s rodeo, the event has been rescheduled for Sunday. Registration will begin at 3:00 PM, with riding to start at 4:00 PM. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing you there!

With dirt on their boots, helmets on their heads, and dreams bigger than the arena, our youngest cowboys and cowgirls are ready to show us what grit really looks like. 🤠💫

These pint-sized riders will be suited up and chasing their dreams — one sheep ride at a time! Come check out the gear, grab a T-shirt, and be part of the fun at the main arena on Friday, July 25.
