A little perspective on American Agriculture.
The United States covers approximately 2.43 BILLION acres.
Of those, approximately 880 MILLION acres are farmland.
That’s just 36% of our nation’s total acreage.
Now consider this:
The United States has a population of approximately 342 million people.
The world has a population of approximately 8.3 BILLION people.
And fewer than 2% of Americans work directly in farming.
Think about that for a moment.
A remarkably small percentage of our population is responsible for producing the crops, livestock, and agricultural commodities that help feed our nation and contribute to food supplies around the world.
And not every acre of farmland is used to grow food directly. Some is pasture, some produce livestock feed, and some grow crops for fuel, fiber, and other products.
Yet year after year, American farmers continue to produce, innovate, and meet the demands of a growing world.
Behind those acres are families, generations of knowledge, long hours, enormous investments, and a commitment to agriculture that doesn’t end when the sun goes down.
At Shivvers, we’re proud to play a part in that story, helping farmers protect the quality and value of the grain they work so hard to produce.
Because agriculture isn’t just about acres.
It’s about the people behind them and the people who depend on them.
