Gross ton =2240 pounds
Net ton = 2000 pounds

Pay attention to how you get paid on recyclables such as sheet/tin/shred.

If someone is paying $230 a gross ton, it's actually the same as $200 a net ton.

Let me break it down further in case you are not sure how you are getting paid.

$230÷2240=$0.10

$200÷2000=$0.10

So you are getting paid the same at $230 a gross ton as you are at $200 a net ton.
