Today, several of our Local 2570 firefighter-paramedics completed an Advanced Airway Management course hosted by HQMedEd. Managing a patient's airway is one of the most critical skills in emergency care.

This training focused on the techniques and decision-making our members rely on during the highest-stakes calls, enabling us to be better prepared to respond to the needs of our community.

Thank you to the instructors at High Quality Medical Education for their expertise and commitment to raising the standard of emergency care. Your time and teaching make a real difference for our members and the people we serve.

IAFF Local 2570 would like to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to Karla Bigham For Washington County Commissioner, Justin Olsen, Cottage Grove City Council Member, Myron Bailey, Monique Garza, Klein For Congress, Wayne Johnson For MN for their show of support in participating in our Fire Ops 101 yesterday! We appreciate them taking time out of their weekend to show support for the fire service!

They did a fantastic job stepping into the roles as firefighter/paramedics, performing various drills including a live fire exercise.

The goal of this event was to give them a glimpse into our day to day operations at CGFD. We hope that this hands on experience was not only entertaining, but informative. By providing this experience, we hope that the participants walk away with a greater appreciation of the work that the men and women fire service do and they will continue the advancement of the firefighting profession at both the local and state level.

We would also like to thank Minnesota Professional Fire Fighters - MPFF. This event would not have been possible without their guidance.

Lastly, a huge thank you to North Metro Buff and TrueLens Community Media for covering this event and getting some awesome pictures/videos!

This was a great event and we hope we are able to provide this experience again in the future!

I joined Mayor Carter and firefighters in St. Paul to highlight my bipartisan bill to ensure that families of those impacted by service-related cancers receive the support they need. These heroes put their lives on the line to keep us safe, and we must stand with them.
