We are honored to announce that UBTech has been selected as the beneficiary of the Utah Petroleum Association's annual fundraising efforts.

At the recent Energy Summit, Rikki Hrenko-Browning, President of the Utah Petroleum Association, presented UBTech President Aaron Weight with a donation of more than $19,000. These funds will help UBTech purchase well control simulators and create a state-of-the-art drilling simulator training space, providing students with enhanced hands-on learning opportunities and workforce preparation for the energy industry.

Thank you to the Utah Petroleum Association and all the members, companies, and partners whose generosity made this investment possible. Your support is helping prepare the next generation of skilled professionals.

Eight Years of Industry, Community & Connection: 2026 UPA Basin Shootout

What a day in the Uinta Basin! The Utah Petroleum Association celebrated the 8th Annual UPA Basin Shootout at Pleasant Valley Hunting Preserve yesterday, bringing together more than 100 shooters for a beautiful day of friendly competition, camaraderie, and connection.

For eight years, this event has brought Utah’s oil and gas industry together in a community where so many of our members live, work, serve, and raise their families. It is an opportunity to strengthen industry relationships while recognizing something equally important: a strong energy industry and strong local communities go hand in hand.

That community partnership was on full display this year. We extend a heartfelt thank you to Duchesne County, which provided breakfast for more than 100 shooters, and Uintah County, which generously donated snacks for the event. Their continued support reflects the relationship between our industry and the communities of the Uinta Basin.

We were also delighted to welcome Prairie Field Services and EcoPoint as exhibitors. Both companies generously donated raffle prizes and helped make the day even more memorable.

2026 UPA Shootout for Hunger Food Drive

On Wednesday, UPA members wrapped up our 2026 Shootout for Hunger Food Drive Competition, delivering an incredible 30,652 pounds of food to the Duchesne County Food Pantry, where the donations will benefit families throughout Duchesne County.

With bonus points awarded for the pantry's highest-need items, those donations totaled 49,940 competition pounds, an extraordinary showing from our participating companies.

A special recognition goes to Finley Resources/UWAX, WEM, and Scout Energy, whose teams went above and beyond by donating fresh meat, one of the pantry's greatest needs. Even better, the meat was purchased through local county fairs, creating an impact that extends well beyond the food pantry. Those purchases directly support local youth and agriculture while benefiting the Utah Farm Bureau's Miracle of Agriculture Foundation, turning a single donation into support for multiple parts of our rural Utah community.

And the impact continues. Through our partners at Western AgCredit and CoBank, every pound of food donated is matched with $1, up to $15,000, further multiplying what our participating companies have accomplished for families in need.

Congratulations to our competition winners: Crescent Energy took first place, followed by Scout Energy in second and Finley Resources/UWAX in third.

The friendly competition is part of what makes this event so much fun, but the real goal has always been much bigger than a leaderboard: collect as much food as possible and help our local communities. Every box, every can, every pound of fresh meat, and every company that participated contributed to that mission.
