If your dryer needs two cycles to dry one load, the problem usually isn't the dryer.

It's the vent. Lint builds up in the vent line every load, airflow drops, the dryer overheats — and the thermal fuse blows. Clean the lint trap every load and have the vent line cleaned once a year. One service call today beats a dead dryer in December.

Your appliances are about to work harder than they have all year.

Thanksgiving is 5 weeks out. Test the big three NOW, not the morning of:
1. Run the oven to 400° for 30 minutes — does it hold temp?
2. Clean the fridge coils — holiday food is a heat load.
3. Run the dishwasher empty on hot and check the filter.

If anything's off, book before the holiday rush — that week is our busiest.

🌀 Washer dancing across the laundry room on spin cycle? It's almost always one of three things: it's not level (rock it — if it wobbles, adjust the feet), the load is unbalanced (one heavy blanket and nothing else), or a suspension rod is worn out.

Leveled it and it still sounds like a helicopter? The suspension needs a pro — that's a quick fix for us, pun intended.

🧊 Ice maker quit on you? Three quick checks: 1) Is the arm or wire in the DOWN position? (It gets bumped up all the time.) 2) Feel the water line — if it's frozen solid, that's your culprit. 3) Check the freezer temp — it needs to be near 0°F to make ice.

If the tray is cracked, the valve is dead, or it leaks all over the freezer — we replace ice makers same-day.

🤔 "Should I just buy a new one?" Here's the rule I give my own neighbors: if the repair costs less than half of a new machine AND your appliance is under 8–10 years old, repair it almost every time. A $200 fix on a 5-year-old washer beats a $900 replacement.

🧊 Fridge running constantly but not getting cold? Before you call anyone, pull it out and look at the condenser coils underneath or on the back. If they're caked in dust and pet hair, your fridge is suffocating — vacuum them with a brush attachment and you might just fix it yourself.

Still warm after that? Could be a fan, a thermostat, or a sealed-system issue — that's our territory.

👃 Washer smells like a swamp? That musty stink is mold growing in the door gasket and detergent drawer. Fix it yourself: run an empty hot cycle with 2 cups of white vinegar, wipe inside the rubber gasket folds (that's where it hides), and start leaving the door cracked open between loads.

If the smell won't quit, or the gasket is torn and leaking — that's a repair, and we do those same-day.
