rforming Rights Societies such as SENA (Netherlands), RE: Sound (Canada), PPL (United Kingdom), Sound Exchange (U.S.), ANDI (Mexico) and Numerous other countries where Digital Royalties are collected. Some countries collect on behalf of the Artist aka - “digital performance royalties” and others pay only the copyright holder (the label or rights holder to the sound recording). Many countries collect on both. Below are the two ways an artist gets paid through Neighboring Rights Societies:
1) Artist Performance Royalty - A royalty is paid by Digital Transmitters to the Artist for use of the Artist’s song. Our Fee: 25%
2) Master Copyright Royalty - A royalty is paid to the owner of the master recording. Typically the owner of the record label. Our fee: 30%
Recapture Copyrights
We research and file the documents needed to get your Song Copyright and Sound Copyright (Masters) back. Unlike most countries, the United States copyright law provides musicians and songwriters an opportunity to regain ownership of works that they transferred to outside entities, such as record labels and music publishers. Congress established this “second bite at the apple” for authors of creative works after a period of 35 years. “Termination of transfer” is not automatic, however, and there are certain steps creators must take to regain the rights to their works. If you qualify, we will file a notice of termination under the with current copyright holders under the 1976 Copyright Act to attempt to get back what is rightfully yours. In lieu of ARMS recapturing your copyright, ARMS will provide you with the additional service of making your music available on all the digital platforms: I-Tunes, Spotify, Pandora etc. We will also seek licensing opportunities for TV, Film, Compilations, and anywhere music is played. Our goal is to get the maximum amount of revenue on the masters you will now own! Our Fees: 30% - Includes Recapture of Publishing (if applicable), Master Recording, Sales and Streams on Digital Platforms and licensing. Length of Term for our Service - 7 Years at rates above. After the end of term, an extension of 10 years can be made with ARMS receiving 10% less across the board.
