Whether at home or in a hospital, I will work with you to help you achieve your birth goals! My name is Elizabeth Meier, I have a Bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Sciences from SLU, I have been married for 6 years to my husband Adam and we have three children. I have had one birth-center birth and 2 homebirths under the primary care of Midwives. I have breastfed for a total of 58 months betwe

en all three of my children - I know the ups and downs, tips and tricks, joys and sorrows of nursing. I am ready and willing to help you achieve your breastfeeding goals! I am familiar with the Fertility Awareness Method (FAM) and can help you understand this method to a greater extent for Trying to Conceive (TTC) as well as Trying to Avoid (TTA), or if you are just curious about how your body works! I have attended Bradley Method classes and successfully used the method with all of my children. I completed toLabor’s 26 hour doula training (2012). I am professionally trained to educate you about the many aspects of natural birth, to help you choose a primary care provider you can trust, to help you and your partner cope with the emotional and physical discomfort of birth and to support you during the postpartum period (the 4th trimester). I have attended 40+ hours of Midwifery training under the instruction of a 30 year veteran Midwife. (2013)

I have had more than 300 hours of active birth participation/assistance in multiple settings - birth center, hospital and home. I co-teach a 6 week Natural Childbirth Education class to couple's and single parents in groups and in private lessons. I have taken 14 hours of Rebozo training - a very useful labor tool! I'm a Young Living essential oil distributor and frequently use oils on my clients during their pregnancy and birth. I am also an active participant in the birth community – demonstrations, blogs, correspondence, meetings and networking! Feel free to ask me questions about anything! Call or message for pricing information.

"The most difficult part of birth is the year after..."

“The most difficult part of birth is the first year afterwards. It is the year of travail - when the soul of a woman must birth the mother inside her. The emotional labour pains of becoming a mother are far greater than the physical pangs of birth; these are the growing surges of your heart as it pushes out selfishness and fear and makes room for sacrifice and love. It is a private and silent birth of the soul, but it is no less holy than the event of childbirth, perhaps it is even more sacred." * 🌟 - Joy Kusek” (*and, just as true for those who don’t identify as “mothers”). ❤️

Things to consider adding to your birth plan:
No talking after baby is born.

Ive always tried to drive this point home - the birth environment should not shift to whatever is on TV or what you're getting for lunch just because the baby has emerged from the mother. These moments are sacred - you are witnessing a woman become mother, you are in the presence of 2 people as they become a family, you are watching parents fall in love with the tiny human they made. These moments are worthy of respect.

Birth. It's amazing, beautiful, a miracle if you will. It's a special sacred time in a woman's life. But when does that stop? It doesn& #0...

The decision to use essential oils during pregnancy can be a difficult one. There are a wide variety of opinions on the matter, often with conflicting and confusing claims. For example, some women choose to avoid excessive use of these specific oils: Clary Sage or Sage Idaho Tansy or Hyssop Fennel W...

" Good patients don’t question authority. They don’t challenge the need for the test, the diagnosis, or the treatment. They don’t say no, I don’t want you to examine me. Or thank you, I’ll just leave my clothes on for the Pap smear and I’ll cover with a drape, rather than wearing that insulting paper gown with my rear flapping in the wind. They don’t say I think I’ll labor for a bit longer, thank you – we can revisit the cesarean later. And while we’re at it, I’d like to walk around to help my labor move along rather than being strapped into this bed by a fetal monitor and an IV. "

Wonder Woman Act I The first time I recall exercising my personal power, and realizing it could have an impact – even on adults – was in 3rd grade. Mrs. Akron, my 3rd grade teacher was a bit of a tart. Always pinched, always stern. But I was smart and one of her ‘pets’ nonetheless....Read more

Can't imagine? We tell people to leave wild animals alone while they labor because it can cause complications... but women and families don't get that kind of care most of the time.
