The New York Times confirmed today that Pete Hegseth personally blocked 3 women and 2 black men from being promoted to one-star admiral.

The newly released one-star admiral list includes ZERO female officers despite women making up 21% of the active-duty Navy.

Sen. Jack Reed called out that 60% of the senior officers has fired are female or Black at the April 30 Senate Armed Services Committee hearing.

The officers he removed weren’t diversity hires. They were one of the highest-performing senior officers that rose to the top of a brutal competitive system.

Call your senator. Capitol Switchboard: 202-224-3121. Demand they investigate Hegseth’s block of qualified officers.

Save. Share. Time to make some Trouble!

Pride is a Protest because Pride began as a stand against injustice and a fight for equality. It began after the Stonewall uprising, when LGBTQIA+ people stood up against discrimination, harassment and violence and demanded the right to live openly and authentically.

It’s more than a celebration of identity, diversity and resilience. It’s about our communities coming together to protect, uplift and resist. Go make some Trouble for good today and all year long.

HAPPY PRIDE MONTH 🏳️‍🌈

In 2013, Amanda Ngọc Nguyen was r***d at Harvard. She had a r**e kit performed and discovered that it would be destroyed after six months if she did not report the crime to law enforcement and file an extension request. In 2014 she founded Rise, a nonprofit organization aimed to protect the civil rights of sexual assault and r**e survivors. Nguyen was nominated for the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize and named one of the 2022 Time Women of the Year.

Colonel Edna Cummings (Retired) worked extensively to educate the public about the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, the only all-Black, all-female unit to serve overseas during World War II. This Memorial Day, we honor US military members who have lost their lives in service to our country and also the stories of over 6000 African American and ethnic women that often go unnoticed.

The Netflix film The Six Triple Eight, directed by Tyler Perry and released in 2024, dramatizes the unit’s mission to clear a massive mail backlog for American troops in Europe.

Duckworth is the first Thai American woman elected to Congress, the first person born in Thailand elected to Congress, the first woman with a disability elected to Congress, the first female double amputee in the Senate, and the first senator to give birth while in office. She introduced the bipartisan Friendly Airports for Mothers (FAM) Act to ensure new mothers access to safe, clean and accessible lactation rooms in airports.

Today we honor the trailblazing legacy of Rachel Carson, an environmental activist who have inspired us to take action and protect our planet 🌍💚

Rachel’s groundbreaking book, ‘Silent Spring,’ launched the modern environmental movement and sparked a nationwide conversation about the impact of human activity on nature. Her passion and commitment to the environment has paved the way for a more sustainable future.

People had told Rachel, “You can’t be a scientist because you are a girl. You’re supposed to be a mother, or a cook, or a nurse.” She didn’t listen to them. She listened to what she wanted to do.
