This GE refrigerator had a failed compressor inverter board, preventing the compressor from operating properly and causing a complete loss of cooling.
The inverter board acts as the communication and power control center for the compressor. When it fails, the refrigerator may stop cooling even though the compressor is still perfectly good.
After diagnosing the issue, we replaced the failed inverter board, verified compressor operation, and restored normal temperatures.
Proper diagnosis matters. Replacing the correct component can save homeowners hundreds of dollars compared to unnecessary compressor replacement.
