With snow starting to fall in Central Oregon please remember the following:
Bridges and Ramps will freeze before the main roadways.
When it doubt remember BARFF - Bridges and Ramps freeze first.
On snow/ice it takes longer for your vehicle to come to a complete stop.
If traveling, check tripcheck.com to make sure that the roads you are planning on travelling are open.
As the snow falls, always stay on well maintained roads, even if your GPS is telling you about this amazing shortcut. It may take longer, but you won't need a tow truck.
Always carry a kit in your car in case you get stuck or an in accident and have to wait.
Blanket, Water, First Aid Kit, Shelf stable food, Ice Scraper, Snow Brush, Gloves and extra winter clothing, and a Flash light.
Don't forget to have fun and be safe this winter season.
