⚠️ PSA: YOUR KEY IS A PASSWORD 🔑
You wouldn’t post a clear photo of your password, debit card, or alarm code on Facebook.
So stop posting clear pictures of your keys.
A sharp photo of a key can reveal its cuts. With modern technology, that may be enough information to help someone reproduce it. Scammers and criminals keep up with the times as technology grows.
And people do it every day:
🏠 “We bought our first house!”
🚗 “Check out my new car!”
🏢 “We finally opened!”
🔑 “WE GOT THE KEYS!”
Celebrate the moment. Just hide the blade.
Cover it with your hand. Blur it. Crop it out. Turn it away from the camera.
The head or bow of the key is generally harmless.
The blade, the cut portion that operates the lock, should be treated as private information.
Because a key isn’t just a little piece of metal.
🔐 It’s a physical password to something you’re trying to protect.
Post the house.
Post the car.
Post the celebration.
Don’t post the password.
