AEC Imaging Solutions is an evaluation of a “104-year-old blueprint” company. This company was formed just before the "Great Depression" in 1919. While its birth was during a very tough time economically in world it managed to survive the times.
As our industry changed over the past 100+ years so did AEC Imaging Solutions. As we began as a "Photo-Stat" company with "Blueprinting" as a "value added" service. As we progressed through the industry so did our service offerings and technology support.
In the 1940"s we began the process to transition from the "old blueprint" business to the beginning of the white print industry or as it was referred to as the "Diazo Printing" industry. For more than 48 years we moved through the industry as one of the leaders.
In the early 2000's we began the transition from the old traditional "White Printing or Diazo Printing" to Baltimore's first all-digital reprographics or printing facility. By 2005 our customers were demanding even greater needs for digital services. As the needs grow so did our services. The "NEW" core service of our business was the offering of a "Plan Room".
The "Plan Room" allowed our customers to announce, promote, advertise and track all their projects via the internet. As one f the first Reprographic Companies in the Maryland, Washington D.C., and Northern Virginia. Our service coverage quickly expanded our capabilities within our company.
Then March 2020 the world pandemic took over our lives and for nearly 2 years the company struggled to survive the pandemic with no success. In September 2022 the doors of the more than 100-year-old company was forced to close as the result of the negative impact to our business. Additionally, its owner became very ill and could not attend to the operations of the business.
For more than 2 years the owner retired. As a result of several of our major customers maintaining strong contact with him and expressing concerns that they could no longer obtain the high level of "service, quality and reliable pricing". It was decided to re-establish a footprint here in Maryland with an extension into New Hampshire.
We are focused on the services of "scanning, archiving, document management and document distribution" via our "Plan Room and our on-line Vault" storage services as our core operations. In addition, we will continue to provide our traditional construction printing/copying and graphic color printing, mounting, laminating and finishing services to our customers in Maryland.
