My goal as a trainer and content creator is to get you to learn, think and take action for YOURSELF. ⁣

I want you to believe in you— not me. If I wanted to be an entertainer I would have stuck to dance after college. It was fun and I was great at it. Instead, I’ve opted to coach, teach, and motivate others to chase a life they love rather than accept a life that is the result of their bad habits and unwillingness.⁣

I‘ve decided to level-up in my business and finish out the fourth quarter of the year. Everyone can’t come- but those who want to do the work and also level up are invited. Focus on building a life you love versus escaping the life you have.⁣

It’s the subtle mindset shift that changes the entire trajectory of your life. Just try to envision how a home builder and a home repairer may share some of the same daily tasks but the builders’ tasks result in a new structure, while the repairer simply gives you back what you already had but maybe not even in better condition.⁣

If you’re stuck in a cycle you aren’t satisfied with you may want to shift your focus to creating new routines rather than filling up your day with suffering the consequences of your current one. ⁣

CHIN UP BEAUTIFUL, let me tell you something.⁣

You’re not struggling— you’re simply comparing your behind-the-scenes to everyone’s highlight reels. Sometimes their grass IS greener because while you are distracted by comparison, they get up everyday and water it.⁣

Other times it just looks green because they put a filter on it— and still, you’re so busy trying to compare that you don’t notice it.⁣

So the truth is... I set out to learn to cook more healthy meals at home as a New Year Resolution and I spent the first quarter of 2021 doing just that! I’ve learned to cook many healthy meals with fresh ingredients from scratch! But now... your girl has burn out and with the weather changing, the streets are calling my name and I rather spend my time outside.⁣

I need a break but I refuse to resort to fast food and eating out too much so I’m on a mission to find low prep (or no prep), high protein, low calories meals to get me through this rut.⁣

I am thoroughly satisfied with my recent BJs shopping trip and happy to share some of my findings! More to come!!!⁣

I know, I know... what about the sodium from all the packaged foods? Well, I don’t have high blood pressure, and with my activity level, it nothing a little sweat and drinking water won’t flush out. It’s also way better than eating out everyday. Plus most athletes that cook at home don’t get enough sodium. So I’m good. And if you’re eating out a lot these items will be a big improvement for you. I’ll prep these for a week or two, and then get back to cooking more, mixing meals like these in occasionally to avoid cooking burn out.⁣

One thing constantly reminds me is you can’t fake your way to fitness. ⁣

Your body can only give you back the love you give it. That’s a little different from the physique training I’m accustomed to, because you can starve yourself into decent look if you really want to. But you surely can’t perform with gas you don’t put in the tank. ⛽️ ⁣

While I’m very proud of my performance these last 3 weeks in the , I feel a shift coming in my fitness priorities. I love the way my body looks, but I also love it for the fun it allows me to have, the memories it helps me make, and for sustaining life all these years. So I’m going to take more care of my body, give it more of what it needs and preserve it the best way I can. ⁣

On another note, I can’t believe I finished the CrossFit open this year!!! 21.3 and 4 were so much fun! I made it through the 30 chest to bar which I wasn’t sure I could. Failed my bar muscle up attempts but that’s ok they are coming very soon. And put 138lbs over my head after all of that. It’s been a slow process but quitting won’t speed it ups so I’ll rest and recover tonight and then get right back to my training tomorrow! ☺️⁣

L I F E H A P P E N S. But that doesn’t mean our health and wellness should go out the window. Willpower only goes so far and sometimes our to-do list gets so packed that we forget to put effort towards our goals.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Here are 3 tips/hacks that I practice to make healthy snacking, drinking water, and getting in enough protein more convenient when I’m stressed, busy, or unmotivated.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
1️⃣ Keeping healthy choices like fruits and veggies out in plain sight, or being sure to wash and store them in small Ziplock bags that are easy to access. This way I am more likely to grab them as snacks. This works especially because I don’t keep unhealthy snacks in the house. If I want them, I’ll have to make a conscious decision to leave the house and at least go burn some calories to get them. This doesn’t always work but surely helps make my unhealthy snacking less frequent. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
💡Bonus tip: purchase single servings. I know it costs more but if price is the issue, save some money and calories by leaving it in the store.⁣⁣

2️⃣ Keeping high protein snacks and/or extra servings of protein prepped so I always have some ready when I don’t have time or energy to cook it fresh. I try to always keep some shrimp cooked, tuna on deck, and a protein powder in my cabinet. When I’m in a hurry or can’t stop to make a meal, I can easily throw the protein with some of the fruits and veggies that I prepped in the last tip 😉.⁣⁣

3️⃣ Keeping water with me in a easy to carry container that has a straw (the straw is key). We see the bodybuilders and athletes lugging around their gallon of water, but it’s neither convenient or fun. I prefer to keep several small bottles or use a gallon to refill my smaller container throughout the day. Don’t forget your straw because using a straw helps you sip larger amounts in less time. I try to make it a habit to sip while I scroll social media (because scrolling happens for most of us several times throughout the day), and I do my best to have water with every meal. ⁣⁣
