A round of significant flash flooding hit the Texas Hill Country in July. Improvements in the warning system resulted in more effective evacuations in the impacted area. In this week's blog, we take a look at how improvements in the warning system were not due to significant changes in products issued by the National Weather Service, but rather were mostly related to significant changes to emergency preparedness and response since the disastrous flood of July 2025.
