Accounts Receivable Specialist
Cross City Lumber LLC – Cross City, FL
Position Summary
Cross City Lumber LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Receivable Specialist to support the financial operations of our sawmill. This role is responsible for managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Process customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Monitor accounts to identify outstanding balances and follow up on overdue payments
• Apply customer payments (ACH, check, wire) in accounting systems
• Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for
• Communicate with customers regarding billing discrepancies and payment issues
• Generate aging reports and assist management with collection strategies
• Maintain accurate customer account records and documentation
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable
• Collaborate with sales, shipping, and operations teams to resolve invoice discrepancies
• Support audits by providing requested documentation and reports

Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• 2+ years of accounts receivable or general accounting experience
• Experience in manufacturing, lumber, or industrial environments preferred
• Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Great Plains is a plus)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Job Title: Dry Kiln Operator

Department: Operations
Reports To: Kiln Supervisor / Production Manager
Location: Sawmill Facility

Job Summary

The Dry Kiln Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of dry kilns to properly dry lumber to required moisture specifications. This position monitors kiln schedules, controls, and lumber quality while safely operating a Taylor forklift to load, unload, and transport lumber packages. The Dry Kiln Operator plays a critical role in product quality, safety, and production flow within the sawmill.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Operate and monitor dry kilns according to established schedules, recipes, and moisture targets

Load and unload lumber packages into and out of kilns using a Taylor forklift

Safely transport lumber packs between the sawmill, kiln area, and storage locations

Monitor kiln controls, temperatures, humidity, airflow, and cycle progress

Record kiln data, drying times, and moisture readings accurately

Perform moisture checks using handheld moisture meters

Identify and report lumber defects, drying issues, or equipment concerns

Conduct routine inspections of kilns, tracks, fans, doors, and related equipment

Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping in the kiln area

Follow all company safety rules, OSHA requirements, and lockout/tagout procedures

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

Communicate effectively with supervisors, sawmill operators, and forklift operators

Participate in safety meetings, training, and continuous improvement efforts

Equipment Operated

Dry kilns and kiln control systems

Taylor forklift (large-capacity industrial forklift)

Moisture meters

Hand tools and basic maintenance equipment

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred

Prior experience as a Dry Kiln Operator or in a lumber/sawmill environment preferred

Experience operating large industrial forklifts (Taylor or equivalent) preferred

Ability to read and follow kiln schedules, procedures, and safety instructions

Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

Ability to work outdoors and indoors in hot, humid, and dusty environments

Ability to climb ladders and access kiln tops or platforms

Position Summary
The Warehouse Attendant / Shipping Operator is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient handling, staging, loading, and shipping of finished products and materials. This role supports daily warehouse and shipping operations by ensuring orders are prepared correctly, inventory is maintained, and all work is performed in compliance with safety, quality, and company standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist with inventory control, cycle counts, and material organization
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and shipping area
• Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements, and equipment operating procedures
• Communicate with supervisors, truck drivers, and production personnel regarding shipments
• Assist with receiving raw materials or supplies as needed
• Report damaged materials, equipment issues, or safety concerns promptly
• Safely load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment
• Stage, band, wrap, and secure product for shipment according to shipping requirements
• Verify shipping paperwork, bills of lading, and load accuracy before release
• Perform visual inspections of products for damage, count accuracy, and proper labeling
• Perform other warehouse or shipping duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior warehouse, shipping, or manufacturing experience preferred

The Saw Filer is responsible for maintaining, repairing, sharpening, and aligning saws and cutting tools used in the sawmill’s production process. This role ensures that all saws, knives, and related equipment operate efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime. The Saw Filer plays a critical part in achieving lumber quality standards and maximizing overall mill productivity.

Key Responsibilities
Saw Maintenance & Sharpening
• Inspect, repair, and sharpen circular saws, chipper knives, gang saws, and related cutting tools.
• Perform tensioning, leveling, welding, grinding, and straightening of saws and blades.
• Maintain proper saw guides, alignment, and clearances to ensure optimal cutting performance.
• Monitor saw performance throughout shifts and make necessary adjustments.
Equipment Operation & Setup
• Set up and maintain filing room equipment including grinders, swages, benching tools, welders, and polishers.
• Maintain accurate gauges, tools, and measuring instruments.
• Ensure saws are properly fitted and installed on machines before production runs.
Quality & Production Support
• Troubleshoot sawing issues such as wavy cuts, excessive kerf, heat damage, and premature wear.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to minimize downtime and maximize recovery.
• Support mill personnel with saw-related performance adjustments.
Safety & Compliance
• Follow all Cross City Lumber safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe filing room.
• Report damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, or potential hazards immediately.
• Ensure saws meet regulatory and mill-specific standards for safety and quality.
Documentation & Recordkeeping
• Maintain logs for saw changes, sharpening cycles, blade life, and failures.
• Track inventory of saws, knives, and filing room supplies.
• Assist with ordering replacement blades, guides, and consumables.
