☕️ Where: Purdue Northwest Commercialization and Manufacturing Excellence Center, 7150 Indianapolis Blvd, in Hammond

Located just across from Purdue Northwest in Hammond, 219 Grounds has created a welcoming neighborhood coffee shop built around handcrafted coffee, food and community. Its menu also puts its own spin on the coffeehouse experience with creations like horchata, churro and Spanish lattes.

We’ll hear the entrepreneurial story behind 219 Grounds directly from Eva, learn more about building a local coffee business and give her the opportunity to tap into the ideas, questions and connections of the 1MC community.

Congrats to our Region businesses honored for 50 or 100 years in business!

At the 100-year mark is El Popular Inc, a fourth-generation family-owned company that manufactures and distributes mainly chorizo. The Garzas were the 2024 E-Day Family-Owned Business of the Year and also were recognized as the SBA Great Lakes Exporter of the Year.

At the 50-year mark are: Jasper County Community Services, Newton County Community Services Inc., Pulaski County Abstract Company Inc. and Pulaski County Human Services.

Gov. Mike Braun honored 34 businesses at the Governor's Century and Half Century Business Awards in Indianapolis this week.
