A year ago we were contacted by BYU about using wool pellets in rangeland reclamation. They had found that by using wool pellets the germination rate of native sage brush jumped from 20% to 80%. We started making a harder more dense wool pellet for them to use in industrial planting equipment. Two weeks ago Hill Air Force Base inconjunction with BYU purchased pellets for a 50 acre test plot of range land.

We bought a new die for the mill. It is a little smaller diameter pellet to help it run through planting machines easier.

(We made these pellets longer so you could tell the difference of diameter)

Earlier this year we completed our largest custom wool pellet order. We pelletized 40,000 lbs for the Canadian Co-operative. We are also helping them build their marketing and distribution network.

We get many different types of wool from many different breeds of sheep. All wool will make pellets but some types of wool make better pellets. "Better pellets" means denser, less fluff, and less dust.
