Two presentations this morning on protecting the thing most people in Cullman have the most invested in, their home, plus a new face at the table.

Hannah Crawford with Mosquito Guys walked us through why mosquito control is a get ahead of it situation, not a react to it one. Once you are dealing with an infestation, you are already behind, and the smarter play is treating early and staying on a schedule. She also covered the broader general pest control services her team provides, which makes her a strong resource well beyond mosquito season.

Felicia Hilburn with Splash Painting shared the painting and drywall side of the business, and she brought receipts. The before and after examples of drywall repair told the story better than words could. Seeing the actual quality of the finished work is exactly what gives you confidence when you are recommending someone to a client, a neighbor, or a friend.

We were also glad to welcome Shayna Eddleman with Eddleman Bookkeeping as the newest member of our chapter. Adding a bookkeeper to the room strengthens the whole group, and we are looking forward to getting to know her business and sending her some great referrals.

That is the value of what happens here every Thursday. The more clearly we understand what our members do and the standard they hold themselves to, the easier it becomes to send them the right business.

This morning's meeting was a great reminder that the businesses in our chapter are doing meaningful work for the people of Cullman, not just serving them.

Tiffany Wright with The Link of Cullman County shared the mission behind the organization and the impact it has on our community. She walked us through what The Link actually does day to day, why that work matters, and how community members and small business owners like us can play a role in supporting the mission. It is one thing to hear about a nonprofit, it is another to understand exactly how to plug in and help, and Tiffany made that clear.

Sylvia Miklos with Cullman Esthetic and Lash followed with a presentation about her studio and the women she serves. Her focus is on the women who are stressed out and constantly putting themselves last, offering a space where they can slow down, take care of their skin, and actually breathe for a minute. Better skin is part of the outcome, but the deeper value is giving women a real outlet to reset.

The more we understand what our members truly do and who they truly serve, the sharper and more meaningful our referrals become.

Another strong Thursday in the books, with two presentations that hit on something every business owner in Cullman needs to think about, protecting what you have built and making sure the world sees it the right way.

Steven Watts with The Lion’s Kingdom IT Solutions broke down what real IT support looks like for a business that depends on its systems every single day. From keeping computers dependable to protecting against phishing attacks and online threats, Steve is the person you want in your corner before something goes wrong, not after. For any business running on technology, which is all of us, that kind of protection is not optional.

Vincente Swope with RenVision Media followed up with a presentation on why video matters for established businesses and why the approach behind the video matters even more. The core message, respect the viewer. Most marketing interrupts and sells. RenVision creates content that earns attention by educating, entertaining, or giving something back, which is what separates the agency from the rest of the field.

Two very different businesses, one common thread, both are built on doing the work the right way and standing behind it.

Energy was high this morning, and so was the quality of what we learned about two of our members.

Daniel Boggan with America’s First Federal Credit Union reminded us what a local bank can actually be. He focused on the relationship side, the in person service and the real people you can pick up the phone and call, while also showing how AmFirst has kept pace on the digital side with user friendly apps and modern banking tools. That combination of personal service and strong technology is rare, and it is exactly what makes him easy to refer.

Kristin Carroll with Wordsmith and Co. dove into one of the most relevant topics in marketing right now, AI. She walked us through how she uses it as a tool while making sure the final copy still sounds human, polished, and on brand. Her specific ask this week is to connect with nursing homes, so if anyone in your network is in that space, Kristin is the person to send their way.

This is what makes BNI work. The better we know each other’s businesses and the more specific we get with our asks, the sharper our referrals become.

A great BNI morning is one where you leave smarter about the people in the room and sharper at sending them business. Today delivered both.

Don Warnke with Westside Advisors and Insurance Services walked us through what it really takes to optimize investments and maximize return on investment heading into retirement. His presentation went beyond the basics, giving us a clearer picture of how he approaches financial planning and what sets him apart from other advisors. That kind of insight is exactly what makes our referrals stronger, the more we understand how a member works, the better we can connect them with the right people.

We also ran a workshop on sharpening how we present our own businesses and how we ask for specific, high quality referrals. Small adjustments in how we communicate what we do can mean the difference between a vague introduction and a closed deal.

The best referrals come from knowing exactly what someone does and exactly who they do it for. That is what this morning was all about.

Michael Kelly with Precision Interior and Design walked us through how he partners with builders, developers, and investors to handle the interior side of their projects, saving them time and money while protecting the quality of the finished product. For anyone managing a build or a renovation, Michael is the kind of partner who takes a major piece off your plate so you can focus on the rest of the project.

Dan Miller with Extreme Roofing followed up with a clear message, Extreme is built on trust and they stand behind their work. In an industry where homeowners and property owners are often burned by shortcuts and disappearing contractors, Dan and his team have built a reputation for doing the job right and being there after the handshake.

Presentations like these are why BNI works. The more we understand each other’s businesses, the sharper our referrals become, and the more value we create for the people in our networks who need exactly what our members offer.

What a way to start the morning. Today’s meeting was packed with energy and two great presentations.

Caroline Pinyan with Alfa Insurance reminded us what good coverage really comes down to: protecting the people and things that matter most. The more we understand her work, the easier it is to point the right clients her direction.

Coray Symonds with Redmond Mortgage broke down how he guides people through home financing without the stress. Now we know exactly who to send his way.

This is why we show up. The better we know each other’s businesses, the better we refer.

Come see it for yourself. We meet Thursdays at 8:30 AM at the Wallace State Workforce Training Center in Cullman.

Your next best referral partner is sitting in a room you haven't walked into yet.

BNI Achievers Chapter is a group of Cullman business owners and professionals who meet every Thursday morning to do one thing well, pass quality referrals to people we know, trust, and have vetted. We are not a leads group. We are a structured network built on Givers Gain, the idea that when you show up consistently for other businesses, your own business grows in return.

Every week, members learn what each other actually do, who their ideal customer is, and how to spot an opportunity to send business their way. Over time, that shared knowledge turns into real revenue, real partnerships, and a real referral pipeline you can count on.

If you are a business owner in Cullman who is tired of chasing cold leads and ready to build relationships that compound, this is where you start.

Visitors are welcome every Thursday at 8:30 AM at the Wallace State Workforce Training Center in Cullman. Come see how we operate, meet the members, and find out if there is a seat open for your industry.

Today’s BNI Achievers meeting delivered valuable insights and strong connections.

Jerri Grisham of The Grisham Firm PLLC gave us an inspiring inside look at her journey through law school, her legal expertise, and the motivations that drive her law career.
She was followed by Larisha Kimbrough of Kimbrough Land Surveying Services LLC, who provided a clear overview of their business and explained how they remain competitive alongside much larger land surveying firms.

Presentations like these help us better understand each member’s expertise, enabling us to make more powerful referrals. It is great to see local business owners in Cullman working together and creating real impact through referrals and Givers Gain.
