Rapid Referrals Weekly Recap

This week, Stacey Long with The Journey Home Realty Group gave us a great refresher on the GRIP Method for inviting visitors to a meeting:

✅ Grow your business – "Are you looking to grow your business?"
✅ Referrals – "Are referrals part of your growth plan?"
✅ Introduce – Introduce them to BNI, your personal marketing team.
✅ Place and Time – Let them know where and when we meet.

The key? Focus on what's in it for them!

👏 Congratulations to Anthony Vintson with Beacon Accounting Services, LLC, who led the chapter in April with an incredible $192,122 in TYFCB (Thank You For Closed Business)! That spirit of generosity and support is exactly what BNI is all about. Way to go, Anthony!

We also heard from Callie Haynes with Waterfront Closing & Title. With more than 20 years of experience in the real estate closing industry, Callie has become a trusted expert in helping transactions close smoothly. A great referral for Callie is someone who is shopping for a home and believes they've found "the one." She can perform a title search to uncover any potential issues before they become problems and connect buyers with our Rapid Referrals realtors and lenders to help ensure a seamless closing experience.

Chris Vessell with Signature Sign & Graphics also shared with the chapter. Chris is a devoted family man raising five children and is passionate about helping businesses achieve their goals through effective signage and graphics. From vinyl lettering on doors and windows to promotional banners, event flags, yard signs, and large-scale building signage, Chris offers solutions for projects of all sizes. Great referrals for Chris include businesses that are relocating, rebranding, opening a new location, or planning an upcoming event.

🇺🇸 Tuesday Meeting Recap 🇺🇸
What’s the most expensive thing in the room? Read below to find out!

Stacey Long with Team Long- The Journey Home Realty Group shared during her Educational Moment that an EMPTY CHAIR is the most expensive thing in the room.
An empty chair represents:
* Missed connections
* Missed referrals
* Missed opportunities
* Missed business
Add all of those together and it equals slower chapter growth.

So how do we fill the seats? Easy — invite visitors! BNI truly sells itself. All you have to do is invite a business owner to come experience the room.

Speaking of visitors… shoutout to Megan Barbee with Premier Plumbing for bringing the most visitors during April — a whopping SIX visitors! Who’s going to top that in June?

We are currently looking for a home inspector to join our chapter. If you know someone in that profession, let them know that home inspectors average over $16,000 annually in referral revenue from our chapter alone!

We also loved hearing from our featured speakers this week: Ben Berry with Berry Lawncare, LLC and Beth Veigl with Cullman Vacation Rentals .

Ben shared how he started mowing lawns in high school and has built his company into a full-service lawncare business that handles everything from routine maintenance to drainage solutions, gravel delivery, and installation. His perfect referral? A homeowner or property owner looking for a dependable company to handle it all. Fair warning though… the neighbors may get jealous!

Beth shared about the boutique guest experiences offered through Cullman Vacation Rentals. Her properties are thoughtfully designed with all the comforts of home — and then some! Because the business is family owned and operated, they’re able to go above and beyond with concierge-style services like grocery shopping and stocking the fridge before guests arrive. Whether someone is planning a lake getaway, a staycation, or needs temporary housing after an unexpected event like a fire or severe water damage, Beth is ready to help.

We are so excited to welcome Constance Thrailkill with Thrailkill Fence Company LLC to Rapid Referrals!

Constance and her husband, Houston, own Thrailkill Fence Company, LLC and have been installing fences in Cullman and surrounding areas for several years. They provide fencing of all kinds to meet their clients needs. When Constance isn't managing their family owned business, she stays busy making her favorite sweet treat - CHEESECAKE!

We are so excited that Stacey Long jumped into the Education Coordinator role! She reminded us all how important it is to prepare and be very specific in our weekly asks. Name a specific person or business you may be trying to connect with or specify a particular problem or situation you need help resolving. Other ways to be specific are to give a testimonial about a problem you solved from a referral or share a unique insight into what makes your business stand out above the competition.

🗣️Shout out to Sean Myrick and Rob Henshaw, who both sent 8 referrals in the month of April! Way to lead by example!

We inducted not one, but TWO new members!
🚘Adam Shedd with Long-Lewis of Cullman has joined the chapter in the Automotive Sales seat. Long Lewis has a long-standing history of presenting their bottom dollar right out of the gate — no haggling, no back and forth. It truly simplifies the car-buying experience. She has even learned how to apply logos, initials, jersey numbers, and more to basketballs. The sky is the limit with what Ashley can personalize, and her work is always top notch. One thing that truly sets her apart is that she’s happy to personalize items purchased elsewhere — something many companies won’t do. Safe to say, many of our members proudly wear shirts, jackets, and bags featuring logos Ashley has stitched for them!

Jen holds the Photography seat after previously holding the mortgage seat in BNI Business Alliance of the River Region in Millbrook, AL, which she started in 2019. Jen understands the value of BNI and has seen it work first hand. She brings over two years of photography experience and is ready to connect with all of our Cullman chapters!

We are excited to welcome Jen to Rapid Referrals and look forward to learning more about all that she offers. We know she will be an asset to our chapter and are excited about the connections and networking opportunities that await!

Featured Speakers This Tuesday!

Just as the weather starts to heat up and you’ll want your AC working like a champ, Barton Dye with Dye HVAC will be letting us know how he keep people cool. There’s no doubt we will all run across someone needing his services in the months to come!

And Ashley Morris with Just Stitchin' Dixie will be telling us all about what apparel and gift ideas she can help us with. It doesn’t just stop with embroidery. Ashley has many options she can offer and outsource for businesses, friends and family. She will let us know what the perfect referral looks like for her.

🔎 Recap!

Another jam-packed morning of networking at Rapid Referrals!

Rob Henshaw shared the importance of standing up during Open Networking. It makes you more visible and opens up your body language. He also pointed out something simple but important — wearing your name tag! It helps visitors know who is part of the chapter and who to approach.

💡Fun fact: Did you know your name tag should be worn on the right side? That makes it easy to read when shaking someone’s hand during introductions!

We also inducted two new members today, and they definitely share a common theme!
• Constance Thrailkill with Thrailkill Fence Company LLC is making Cullman home and already winning over new friends with homemade cheesecakes!
• Jen Johnston with Jen Johnston Photography is also new to the area and lives on a family compound where she proudly holds the title of Family Chef!
Both Jen and Constance are transplants to the area and clearly love spending time in the kitchen. Welcome to the chapter!
