"You’ll love eating your greens when they’re as good as these three dishes at Banana Leaf LA in Culver City.
You’ve probably never heard of the second dish, gongura with shrimp.
Gongura is variously translated as roselle or sorrel leaves. It’s in season right now, so Banana Leaf uses it fresh.
A lot of seasonings go into this tasty South Indian dish, including ginger, garlic, red onions, curry leaves, cumin, mustard seeds, turmeric, coriander, chili powder and garam masala, plus shrimp.
If you’re not an okra lover, you may change your mind when you taste it stuffed with a crunchy mixture of peanuts, cashews and spices. It’s positively addictive.”
