Nothing like pulling a fully loaded bucket truck uphill and watching the fuel economy drop to a beautiful 2.5 MPG ⛽️😂

The 16 ton wrecker was earning its keep on this 60 mile tow.
Heavy load, uphill and plenty of diesel being sacrificed for the cause.

Current diesel price is around $5.35/GAL

At 2.5 MPG…

She ain’t thirsty. She’s DEHYDRATED 😂

On the verge of a rollover 😳

A Toyota Corolla went off the driveway into a kudzu patch. Sitting at a steep angle, it was on the verge of rolling over towards the house.

Our 16 ton wrecker was dispatched to stabilize the Corolla and safely recover it back onto the driveway.

To the person that installed these driveshaft bolts with red loctite…thanks a lot 😅

This is how I imagined the conversation going…

(Mechanic) “Hey Boss, what’s the torque specs for these driveshaft bolts?”

(Boss) “Impact gun…Ugga Dugga until you can’t Dugga Ugga anymore. Oh, and don’t forget the loctite”

(Tow Operator, 3 years later) 🙄🫠

Whoever tightened these down wanted to MAKE SURE that driveshaft was never coming off 😅

Nothing like a “quick driveshaft removal” turning into a full body isometric workout.

Anyone else ever fight a bolt so hard you start questioning whether it’s actually threaded? 😂

Just yesterday we shared a reminder asking drivers to slow down or move over when approaching tow trucks and other emergency vehicles working on the roadside.

And now, another tow operator is fighting for her life after being struck from a distracted driver.

For those of us who work on the side of the road, this isn’t a slogan. It isn’t something we post for likes or engagement. It’s for AWARENESS.

Every time we step out of that truck, we’re trusting the drivers approaching behind us to look up, pay attention, slow down, and give us room.

It only takes a few seconds to move over or reduce your speed. Those few seconds could be the difference between someone finishing their shift and going home to their family…or the obvious.

Please keep this operator, her family, friends and coworkers in your thoughts.

SLOW DOWN. MOVE OVER. PAY ATTENTION.

There’s a life standing on the other side of those flashing lights 🚨

Thank you to EVERYONE who shares these posts 💜

Another tow operator is fighting for her life because someone failed to pay attention behind the wheel.

On Saturday afternoon, Kellie Glaneman of Blair’s Towing & Recovery was doing what thousands of towing and recovery professionals do every single day, helping clear a disabled vehicle from the roadway on eastbound Interstate 64 near Newtown Road in Virginia. Instead of going home to her three children, she was struck by a passing vehicle while loading a car onto her tow truck.

The injuries are devastating. According to her family, Kellie suffered multiple broken bones, a shattered elbow, shattered thumb, severe injuries to her hand, extensive damage to her hamstring, numerous fractures in her back, and remains hospitalized in serious condition. She is unable to move on her own and spends much of her time unconscious as doctors fight to help her recover.

This wasn’t an unavoidable accident. This was another reminder that every time a driver ignores emergency lights, fails to move over, or refuses to slow down, the people working inches from live traffic pay the price.

Tow operators, law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, DOT workers, and roadside service providers deserve to go home at the end of their shift. They should never have to wonder if the next distracted, careless, or reckless driver is going to change their lives forever.

Slow Down Move Over Inc. asks everyone to keep Kellie Glaneman, her family, and the entire Blair’s Towing & Recovery family in your thoughts and prayers.

Move over.
Slow down.
Put the phone away.
Someone’s life depends on the decision you make in the next few seconds.
