For a high-volume or cash-heavy business, checking transactions daily can help catch problems quickly. For many small businesses, a weekly reconciliation is the sweet spot. At the absolute minimum, it should be completed every month.

The longer you wait, the harder it becomes to catch duplicate charges, missing deposits, bank fees, or simple bookkeeping errors.
