One of my all-time favorite tools in the upholstery shop is the good old electric knife!!! Credit to my friend Bonnie- who make sure every time she goes to a yard sale and she sees an electric knife to no avail she gets it and I use them like crazy. Today we are cutting door panel cardboard. It is light work with an electric knife.

We’ve had a lot of this in the last 6 plus years. . Although Sofa/ chairs arms are at butt level they are not made to sat or stood on. We had many people NOT believe me. Your sofa arms are made of one 1 x 2 covered in cardboard that’s all they are. One BUTT can cost you a new sofa or a trip to the upholsterer!!! And believe me when I say , most upholsterers WILL NOT touch something like this.
