From the classroom to the simulator!

We are incredibly proud of our South Lafourche High School Marine Ops students, who are wrapping up their 2025-2026 school year by completing Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET).

What makes this program so special? By attending class daily right here at our ECO Training Center in Cut Off, LA, these high schoolers are mastering elite skills before they even graduate, which uniquely situates them for maritime success.

This "homegrown" talent is the future of the maritime industry. Huge congratulations to our South Lafourche students for proving they have what it takes to lead the way!

On National Maritime Day, we not only reflect on our history, but we set our sights on the future of the industry. In honor of this special day, ECO hosted Nicholls State University President Dr. Jay Clune and leadership from the Louisiana Maritime Academy on our campus. Through our Guyana-based company, G-Boats Incorporated, we were honored to sponsor Youth Basketball Guyana's recent Introduction Basketball Coaching Workshop focused on empowering local teachers and coaches with the tools to mentor young athletes.

It is especially meaningful to see retired Chouest employee Daniel LaFont leading the way on the court! Daniel played a vital role in building our Guyana operations during his time in business development, and it's wonderful to see him still dedicating his time and talent to the local Guyanese youth.

Family is at the heart of everything we do at ECO, and it is always special when that connection spans generations. One of our youngest legacy members is already showing a great interest in the family business!

Meet 9-year-old Rowen. To say Rowen's roots at ECO run deep would be an understatement. With his grandparents, uncle, and mom all working across our fleet and offices, he truly grew up in a Chouest household.

For his school's recent Career Day, Rowen was proud to represent ECO in his Chouest gear. The day was made even more special because one of our own Software Developers, David Day, visited the classroom to talk to the students about what Chouest does.
