To be eligible for the Startup Global Pop-up Pitch Competition in Calgary on June 16, you'll need:
🌍 Plans to export or expand internationally within the next 2 years
📈 At least 1 year of revenue generation or active R&D fundraising
💰 Between $50K and $1M in revenue (as of February 2, 2026)
🏢 A business founded and headquartered in Canada
⏱️ Less than 8 years of operation

Wondering what the Startup Global Virtual Pitch Competition actually looks like? Here's exactly how it works.

Day 1️⃣ (May 26): First-round heats run from 10:30 AM to 2:50 PM ET. You'll be placed in a Zoom breakout room with two judges and given 3 minutes to pitch your business verbally, no pitch deck or slides required. That's followed by 3 minutes of Q&A. If your product is physical, you're welcome to show it, but no demonstrations unless the judges ask during Q&A.

From there, judges will select the Top 10 companies, announced at 3:30 PM ET.

Day 2️⃣ (May 28): The Top 10 return for their final pitches. A winner is selected live, taking home $8,500 and a spot in the Grand Finale in Mississauga on October 29.
