Watch out for the scammers...they prey on the elderly!
Scammers are posing as the IRS and the Comptroller of Maryland—using mail, phone calls, texts, and emails to pressure people into handing over money or personal information.

• Demands for immediate payment
• Threats of arrest or penalties
• Links or phone numbers that don’t match official websites
• Promises of huge refunds that sound too good to be true
