Beth Brightwell - The Art of the Blues Welcome to my page! I paint blues and jazz musicians and I also paint on old windows and glassware and make jewelry. Hope you enjoy my work!

I created this page to showcase my work, past and present, sold and for sale. I am a studio artist at Canvas and Cork in downtown Dahlonega, just off Hancock Park, where I create and sell my work. My inspiration comes from vintage black and white photos of jazz and blues musicians and singers. I use my own color palettes to capture the expressions that are unique to musicians as well as t

he highlights and deep shadows that the photos taken in performance venues capture. I also enjoy painting on old windows, metal roofing tiles and old wood. Creating from cast offs is a particularly satisfying endeavor. I make jewelry as well, mostly beaded and copper wire wrapped earrings, but also bracelets and necklaces. I love to recycle old beads, buttons and findings and even leather belts to make new, one of a kind creations. Canvas and Cork is a wine tasting room and art studio and gallery. We hold special art events, host wine tasting groups and give classes in all kinds of mediums.
