Thunderstorms are developing in New Mexico and beginning to move east. Another action area is in the northeast Texas Panhandle where there are signs of storms beginning to develop. Through 6 pm the stronger storms will have the potential for hail up to quarter size (1") and the strongest winds could gust to 75 mph. We are expecting additional development over the next few hours as these storms begin to affect portions of our area.

OFFICIAL EMERGENCY ADVISORY — ALL CLEAR

ALL CLEAR: Wildfire south of FM 767 is fully extinguished. Mutual aid response with Dalhart, Hartley, and Channing VFDs is complete, and all units are back in quarters. No active threat remains. Motorists should exercise caution along FM 767 due to residual smoke. — Office of the Fire Chief

HAZARD:
Grass Fire (Extinguished / All Clear)

LOCATION:
US Highway 54 West, near the state line

STATUS:
The grass fire reported on both sides of Highway 54 West is fully extinguished. All fire units are clearing the scene and in route back to the city.

ACTION:
Highway 54 West is clear and open. Motorists should continue to exercise caution and yield right-of-way to returning emergency apparatus.
