Big News - Avelo Air lights announced today that will be flying to/from McKinney National Airport beginning November 11, 2026

Today marks a historic milestone for McKinney National Airport (DTX) as Avelo Airlines has announced its first nonstop destinations from North Texas' newest commercial airport.

Beginning November 11, travelers will be able to fly nonstop from DTX to:

📍 Orlando, FL (MCO)
📍 Las Vegas, NV (LAS)
📍 Fort Lauderdale, FL (FLL)
📍 Tampa, FL (TPA)
📍 Fort Myers, FL (RSW)

These inaugural routes will coincide with the opening of DTX's new passenger terminal, ushering in a new era of convenient, affordable air travel for McKinney and the surrounding region.

Stay tuned, soon you can book travel out of McKinney National Airport - airport code DTX!

Did you know: an IATA code is the three-letter airport identifier used by airlines, booking websites, and travel apps. And once commercial service launches at McKinney National Airport, travelers will search for flights using the airport's IATA code: DTX. ✈️

Just as Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport uses DFW and Love Field uses DAL, McKinney's code will be DTX. When the time comes to book a flight to or from McKinney, DTX is the code you'll enter in the search bar.

Friday was an exciting day in McKinney! Ribbon (fire hose) cutting / Grand Opening of the new Fire Dept Headquarter, Logistics Building and Fire Station No. 2 buildings all on one campus. Congrats to the whole team of people that made this project a success!
