Balance changed?
Inquiry you don’t recognize?
Late payment showing?
Collection popped up?
Account suddenly closed?
DON’T JUST LOOK AT THE SCORE AND PANIC.
Go to the REPORT and figure out exactly what changed.
Is the information accurate?
Which bureau is reporting it?
When was it reported?
Does it actually belong to you?
If information is inaccurate, incomplete or doesn’t belong to you, understand your rights and use
the proper dispute process.

Applying for everything that says “PRE-APPROVED.
”
Running cards up because the limit is available.
Only paying attention to credit when you need something.
Ignoring your reports for months.
Closing accounts without understanding what it’s going to do.
Then wondering why you’re not seeing the progress you expected.

Late payments
High balances
Collections
Public records
Too many inquiries
Charged-off accounts
And “I don’t know” is an answer too.
A lot of people know their SCORE but couldn’t tell you what’s actually causing the problems on
their REPORT.
That’s exactly what I want people to start understanding.

Closing a card can affect more than just that one account.
You could be changing your available credit, utilization and other parts of your overall credit
profile.
I’m not telling you that you should NEVER close an account.
I’m telling you KNOW WHAT THE MOVE IS GOING TO DO BEFORE YOU MAKE IT. 💯
That’s the difference between just having credit and actually understanding how to manage it.
