A 17-acre crop farm in Bedminster Twp., Bucks County, PA has been permanently preserved through Pennsylvania’s Farmland Preservation Program, helping protect valuable agricultural land from future residential or commercial development.
The preservation of this farm was supported through a partnership between the Commonwealth, Bucks County and Bedminster Township. The project received a total investment of $248,265, including nearly $199,000 in state funding.
This marks the third preserved farm owned by this family. Together with the adjacent 90-acre preserved farm and a separate 28-acre county-preserved property, the project expands a growing area of protected farmland in Bedminster Township.
Agriculture remains an important part of Bucks County’s economy and heritage. Preserving farmland helps keep productive land available for future generations of farmers while maintaining the rural character that residents value.
