CDS PROTECTIVE SERVICES STATEMENT REGARDING CRITICAL ASSAULT ON SECURITY OFFICER
Dallas, Texas — August 16, 2026
CDS Protective Services is aware of the serious incident that occurred Saturday night in the 2400 block of West Northwest Highway in Dallas, where one of our security officers was critically injured while performing his duties.
Based on information currently available, the incident began when an individual created a disturbance at the location where our officer was assigned. During the officer’s efforts to address the disturbance and remove the individual from the premises, a physical confrontation occurred. The officer was severely assaulted and sustained critical injuries.
Our officer was transported by Dallas Fire-Rescue to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment and remains in critical condition.
On behalf of the entire CDS Protective Services organization, we extend our deepest gratitude to the men and women of Dallas Fire-Rescue for their rapid response, emergency medical care, and assistance at the scene. We are equally grateful to the officers of the Dallas Police Department for their immediate response, securing the scene, taking a suspect into custody, and continuing their investigation into this serious assault.
At this time, our primary concern is the health and recovery of our officer and the well-being of his family. Out of respect for their privacy, CDS Protective Services will not release the officer’s identity or additional personal information at this time. We respectfully ask our employees, clients, members of the media, and the public to give the officer and his family the privacy they deserve.
Because this remains an active Dallas Police Department investigation, CDS Protective Services will refrain from commenting on specific evidence, potential charges, or other investigative details. We are cooperating with law enforcement as appropriate.
Our security professionals report to work every day knowing they may be called upon to protect people and property during dangerous and unpredictable situations. We stand firmly behind our injured officer, his family, and every member of our team during this difficult time.
We ask the community to keep our officer, his family, and his fellow security professionals in their thoughts as he continues to fight and recover.
