Yesterday, we faced a sobering moment in the tech community with the closure of Women Who Code, an organization that championed the advancement of women in tech and deeply influenced my own career path. Having had the privilege to speak at their events early in my career, I can personally attest to the vital role they played in empowering women in this field.
Sustaining such organizations is a monumental challenge. As the founder of DevelopHer, I understand these struggles intimately. DevelopHer still stands today because I balance running it with working a full-time job, which allows me to support both myself and our mission. This dual commitment underscores the crucial need for community support and solid infrastructure to empower women in their tech careers.
In light of Women Who Code’s closure, I urge each woman in tech to join us in continuing to forge paths forward. DevelopHer is here to support your career growth through connection, education, and advocacy. To honor the spirit of what Women Who Code accomplished, I am offering a one-week free trial to all its former members. 🌟
Moreover, this is a call to action for companies: we cannot empower women in tech without empowering the organizations that empower them. Invest in the future of tech by supporting organizations like DevelopHer not just with interest, but with your dollars. Your support is crucial in building a sustainable ecosystem where women in tech can thrive. 🚀
Let's keep the legacy alive. Join DevelopHer, support us, and help ensure a vibrant future for women in tech. 💪
