Here's a leadership truth that can make a room uncomfortable...

If your team only speaks honestly when you're not there, you don't have a communication problem.

You have a trust problem.

And the dangerous part?

You may never know.

They'll smile in the meeting.
Agree with the decision.
Say, “Noted.”

Then have the real conversation after you leave.
Some leaders call that loyalty.

NO! It isn't.

It's self-protection.

The healthiest teams aren't the ones that always agree with their leader.

They're the ones that feel safe enough to disagree in the leader's presence.
That distinction changes everything.
