Good morning! It's hot hot hot over hear in dallas and it's only may. Honestly I'm not ready for it y'all. Upper 90's in may?! What is happening?! I've never been an extreme heat kind of girl so it's definitely my hibernation season. 😂 🥵 do you love the heat? Or are you more of a cool weather person?

I can tell you one thing about this heat... it means early morning or late evening photography sessions to avoid that brutal midday sun. And I've found some new amazing spots I can't wait to show y'all. Send me a message if you are looking for some new summer photos! ❤️🌸❤️

I don't post a lot of black-and-white photos but in my opinion this one was worth it. I'm not sure why I don't post a lot of black and whites… I actually edit quite a few in them but for some reason color draws me a lot more than a black-and-white does. Do you agree? I feel like it takes a very specific type of photo for me to be drawn in with black-and-white. Or maybe it's because black-and-white is overused these days? Many people see it as a Band-Aid to fix a poor photo but I feel like that's noticeable, don't you?

It's gray and misty here in Dallas today and it reminds me so much of Pittsburgh weather growing up. I loved gray days because it meant a a slower paced day that included some sort of outdoor time where you just observed the sky and trees. I think my absolute Favorite memories of these days was trail running with my dad as he mountain biked. We called them "run rides". ❤️

This quote... this idea.. it makes me cry. This is what I hope I can bring for my children as I'm gifted these years with them in my home. I pray I can preserve this beauty and wonder that these children are born with so that they are able to bring it to all they will be in the future.

Y'all... it's 66 and sunny outside and honestly I don't want to be indoors. Spring is easily my favorite season here in dallas. The flowers are blooming and birds are singing! It's perfect weather for long homeschool days in the woods and I intend to be there for it as long as this weather lasts. What's your favorite season?

I hope this beautiful post warms you up on this SNOWY day in Dallas. I can't believe less than a week ago we were outside in this gorgeous weather and now freezing at home by the fire. Oh y'all. I've been so non existent on here. Focusing on my family through the holidays and all of my wonderful clients. And I don't regret it one bit. To be honest... this year I will not focus heavily on posting here and trying to keep up with the demand. I will occasionally show some work but I would much rather focus on all my people! But look at these two 😍 I don't even know where to begin with this wedding and what to show you. The photos are unreal and the moments captured even better. What a day! We are less than two weeks away from the most wonderful time of the year! A time when we are reminded of the hope that we have in Jesus Christ. In His coming and His promise to come again! When I sit and allow myself to really think of these truths something leaps in my soul. I can physically feel fear disappear and hope, longing and joy take its place. Is that not the most precious gift we could ever be given? I pray that each of you this year will feel this truth deeply within you and that it would lead to a new day of hope and joy in your lives. Jesus is our best gift we could ever receive. Merry Christmas friends!

Hey y'all! It's Christmas time which means we get to wear sparkly things anytime we want to. 🙌🏻 tis the season, right? Do y'all love sparkle everything as much as I do?
Anyway, I think it's been a few years since I introduced myself on here so hi! 👋🏻 I'm cate, wife to Mark and mom to 5 amazing kids. That's right, 5. 😳 they are the best y'all. I truly can't explain how grateful I am for those littles and my husband. The keep me laughing all day long. Trust me there is never a dull moment in this house. But let's be honest.... every girl needs a creative outlet and about 9 yrs ago I started a little side hustle just for me! ❤️📸 The people I have gotten to meet and photograph are just some of the sweetest ones ever. I'm so honored to have clients that I've known for years and photographed each new season as they come. From weddings, to babies, family and seniors this truly has been the best job in the world.

Ok fun facts: I'm NOT a morning person. (Just ask my family 😂) I memorized the poem "sick" by Shel Silverstein when I was like 10 and have never forgotten it. I'm a chronic vacuum'er. Like never put it down... I graduated from the le cordon bleu and I am a trained chef 👩‍🍳and love to cook. But NOT for toddlers. They are the worst 😂 . I had 4/5 babies at home and LOVED it. I've backpacked for 35 days in the gila desert which was insanely awesome! My love for the outdoors is fierce but I don't like spiders so..... And coffee.... coffee coffee coffee! Haha alright well that's a bit about me. Hope to see you this year so I can capture you and your fam behind my lens. ❤️❤️❤️
