Contract Support Costs aren’t extra money. They aren’t a bonus. They’re a right.
When a Tribal Nation takes over a federal program under the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act (ISDEAA), it also takes on the real costs of running it.
That means paying for the people, systems, and support needed to actually make the program work, from finance and HR to compliance, administration, and program support.
That’s where CSC comes in.
Tribal Nations shouldn’t have to pay out of pocket to run federal programs they take over through self-determination. CSC helps make sure they don’t.
It’s not a favor. It’s part of the federal government’s obligation under ISDEAA.
