& Stick with it!

In January of 2006, I dreamed of becoming my own boss and starting my professional organizing business, Closets by Chicka. What a FUN ride it has been. I truly can’t believe it’s been 20 years!

Two weeks ago, I experienced another exciting first for my business — my very first international organizing trip. Over the years I’ve organized in 9 states (including Texas), but until recently I had never left the U.S. for organizing.

I had the pleasure of helping one of my Charleston, SC clients set up their new flat in London. It was an incredible experience and such a special milestone as I celebrate two decades in business 🎉

During the day it was full-on organizing mode, and at night we enjoyed some amazing restaurants. I wish I had taken more photos, but honestly I was in work mode all week 😊

Most people think being organized is only about STUFF. And while having too much stuff is certainly part of the problem, organization is about so much more than that.

To me, being organized is a way of life. It’s how I choose to live every single day. It’s about creating mental space so you can think clearly, make better decisions, and live with less stress.

Organization shows up in many ways:

• Managing your time well
• Creating consistency with daily routines
• Planning ahead to avoid unnecessary stress
• Protecting your time by setting healthy boundaries and not overcommitting
• Setting goals — and sticking to them

These habits can truly change your everyday life.
