I don't think I can apologize thoroughly enough to the people I've let down with the closing of the Deep Ellum Postal & Grocer. The landlord will be at the shop on Monday at noon for those that need their mail. All other mail has been sent back to the Juanita Craft post office at 3055 Al Lipscomb Way across from RJ's Blues Palace, or the mail has already been returned to sender.
I am sorry for the non-communication for the last few days, processing my guilt and disappointment in what has been a really major failure. I wasn't ready to deal with the reality of the P&G closing, as I believed that I could figure out how to pull the shop out of its financial trouble.
Since the end of 2015, my family's problems have occupied a significant portion of my emotional and intellectual capacity. Dealing with these problems became my top priority, while my business could take care of itself, or so I thought.
I figured that a crowdfunding campaign that set up the P&G for the future would solve all the problems, but the campaign kept getting delayed and more resources went into it while ignoring the P&G's solvency problems, until the landlord came to change the locks.
I have many regrets and many apologies that I owe a lot of people. All I can ask for is your forgiveness. I always had good intentions for the store, but I never had the skills or the habits to run it successfully.
I've tried for the last 6 years working to make Deep Ellum better with the P&G, Crowdus Park, and the Deep Ellum Outdoor Market. I've put my all into trying to do something positive for the neighborhood, but now I'm dedicating myself to the future of my family.
I truly am sorry for my disservice to the community.
