BIG news! Our owner Anietie Antia-Obong recently produced the documentary film Beyond the Headlines: Black Girl Missing for Lifetime Television; and it premieres this Saturday, March 4th at 10pm ET / 9pm CT. We hope you’ll watch.

Narrated by Garcelle Beauvais, Beyond the Headlines: Black Girl Missing chronicles the true, harrowing stories of Kyla Flagg and Joniah Walker, two black teens who vanished into thin air, and their families' desperate search efforts to bring them home despite numerous roadblocks from a system that doesn’t seem to care.

The special also features the founders of Black & Missing Foundation, Natalie Wilson and Derrica Wilson as well as commentary from some of today’s most prolific, social commentators; including Angela Rye and Dr. Treva Lindsey.

As part of Lifetime’s Stop Violence Against Women campaign, Beyond The Headlines: Black Girl Missing highlights how law enforcement and the media generally handle cases of missing black girls.

Although African Americans are only 13 percent of the population, they make up nearly 40 percent of missing persons in the U.S. When compared to their missing white counterparts, the media attention on cases of black missing persons is glaringly disproportionate; and cases of missing black person are often of a lower priority for law enforcement.

The documentary, Beyond the Headlines: Black Girl Missing, is a companion to the scripted movie Black Girl Missing starring Garcelle Beauvais. The documentary special airs Saturday March 4, 2023 at 10pm ET /9pm CT immediately after the scripted Lifetime movie featuring Beauvais.

Please tune in. . Let’s bring our loved ones home!

Beyond The Headlines: Black Girl Missing is Produced by AMS Pictures. Andy Streitfeld serves as Executive Producer, Brad Osborne Writer / Editor, Anietie Antia-Obong Producer and Kim Clemons as Showrunner. Executive producers for Lifetime are Amy Winter, Brie Miranda Bryant, and Nicole Vogel.
