The UN General Assembly declared today World Tsunami Awareness Day seven years ago in hopes of bringing greater awareness to the reality of these devastating storms and encouraging individuals and governmental entities to share forward-thinking risk reduction strategies to lessen future impact on susceptible countries and their communities around the world. At LORD Green, our value and work in the area of "resilience" helps us do just this – to further prevent any harmful impact we, or our clients, might have on our oceans or climate, as well as to help slow the rapid acceleration toward 50% of our world being underwater by 2030.

This past Tuesday, our LORD Green team partnered with our client Granite REIT in a service event known as The Birthday Party Project. As volunteers, we helped assemble favor bags, write birthday cards and create 250+ “birthday party in a bag” kits for homeless children in the DFW area. Thanks to The Birthday Party Project for sharing your passion with us and allowing us to celebrate these children and make their birthdays special!

We’re proud to announce our work with J.P. Morgan on the China Basin case study was recently published to the BREEAM website for its “Very Good” rating in both Part 1 Asset Performance and Part 2 Management Performance – the first building in the San Francisco area to achieve this level of an In-Use rating. This past Friday, LORD Green celebrated September birthdays and team member anniversaries with our monthly Party on the Patio event, and of course, our furry friends had to get in on the fun – a true “PAW-ty” if you ask us. Our celebration wasn’t complete without eating lots of tacos, noshing on ice cream and popsicles, as well as customizing LGS bandanas for our hardest workers. We can’t wait for what’s in store next month!
