Last week, I had the opportunity to experience a week long museum and memorial tour in Montgomery, Alabama. Through my leadership in the workforce and opportunity youth space at I have been blessed to be apart of the Criminal Justice Reform Network for the past 4 years. This network has brought countless partnerships and collaborative efforts into my career and I have been so grateful for those connections. This Spring Convening was one that I will never forget. The work and leadership of Bryan Stevenson in Montgomery is palpable. It leaves you with emotion, purpose and a fire that can't be conveyed through text.

My only call to action is that before time gets away from us all, do yourself a favor and go visit Montgomery, Alabama. It will change you and it will leave you with the charge to tell our ancestors stories in full truth for the rest of your life.

✨ 5 Years of Community Power Consulting ✨

Five years ago, I stepped out on faith and launched Community Power Consulting — a leap that started with a vision, a little bit of savings, and a lot of purpose. My goal was simple: to use my experience and passion for nonprofit work to create broader impact.

I began with just three clients, and today, I’m proud to have partnered with eight incredible organizations over these five years. Through speaking engagements, strategic planning, board advising, community engagement strategies, workforce ecosystem development, youth programming, project management, and strategic operations — each project has challenged me, inspired me, and made me a better businesswoman.

I’m deeply grateful for every client, collaborator, and community partner who has trusted me along the way. Here’s to continued growth, meaningful impact, and the next five years of Community Power Consulting! 💫

I was very happy to spend some time in the community last week with the City of Dallas as they launched the Youth Collaborative Initiative led by Taylor Moody!

The room was filled with a dynamic group of youth-serving stakeholders ready to work alongside young people to create the best Dallas for themselves and future generations!

Big Thought x Nomi Network at the National Youth Employment Council's Youth Days 2024 event on Capitol Hill!

Today Ania Hodges, Angelica Marie Barrera and Dream Austin are joining young people from across the country to advocate for resources, workforce opportunities, and programs for Opportunity Youth. They'll be meeting with key politicians throughout the day to share ideas, possibilities, and the ongoing work for this important population.
