My tank is FULL. And so is the rest of the women at last night's Storytelling.
Another incredibly beautiful evening of Women's Storytelling. Thanks to my co-host and venue sponsor Mayra Vizcaino de Bolanos for creating the atmosphere for a night of connection and shared meaning.
Our storytellers, Farahana Kassam (Farahana Surya Namaskar) and Hiba Tanvir shared deeply from their hearts and laid bare their souls, offering things neither had told others before. Achingly beautiful and uniting to be together in this space as they narrated the moments that shaped their lives.
Thank you Tarrah Lantz for coming and sharing the mission of Hope's Door New Beginning Center, to empower and support survivors of domestic abuse in North Texas. Did you know that 1 in 3 Texas women are affected by domestic abuse, and 1 in 4 Texas men? Our events also showcase the important work non profits do in our community to raise awareness and encourage volunteering.
A few comments from last night's attendees:
"The conversation were so enriching, and created a safe space for trust, connection and building a community. This was amazing!"
"Wow, I have never felt the way I did."
"Real connection, real stories with real meaning."
"Loved the open discussion. The vulnerability that shared from hosts to audience members as well as storytellers."
See you at the next Women's Storytelling gathering May 21, with the venue hosted by Weeda Hamdan at HEXA Coworking & Event Center. Storytellers are being finalized. Register now so you don't forget and share this event with a few people you know. We had two mother-daughter duos last night -- love that!
