ELON MUSK JUST GOT A NEW PENTAGON ROLE, BUT IT IS NOT WHAT YOU MIGHT THINK.

The Pentagon has named Musk to help lead Project Meridian.
The new study was announced on September 30.
It will look at how future wars could change.
Musk will work with Anduril founder Palmer Luckey and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
They will work under Pentagon tech chief Emil Michael.
The team has 120 days to send in its findings.
It will study new tools and ways to fight.
It will also suggest steps to develop and test new tech.
This is a study role.
It does not put Musk in command of troops.
His company SpaceX already works with the US government.

SPACEX WANTS TO PUT AI BRAINS IN SPACE, AND IT MAY HAPPEN SOONER THAN YOU THINK.

SpaceX has shared new plans for orbital data centers.
The project is called Starmind.
Data centers are the big computer sites that run AI.
SpaceX wants to launch its first satellites for this in 2027.
Its chief financial officer shared the timing at a Goldman Sachs event.
The satellites would use big solar panels to make power in space.
Musk says space could be cheaper than the ground.
That only works if the cost to reach orbit drops a lot.
Heat is another hard problem.
Computer chips get very hot, and space has no air to cool them.
Musk says SpaceX knows how to handle that.
OpenAI boss Sam Altman is not convinced.

TRAFFIC HAS A NEW FINAL BOSS, AND IT IS A TUNNEL UNDER ONE OF THE WORLD'S BUSIEST CITIES.

Elon Musk's Boring Company is building the Dubai Loop.
It is a plan to move people in electric cars through tunnels.
The project has just moved into its next phase.
Workers are now putting together the tunnel boring machine.
They are also casting the concrete pieces that line the tunnels.
On September 29, Dubai's Crown Prince met Boring Company president Steve Davis.
The first route will be about 4 miles long.
It will have four stations between DIFC and Dubai Mall.
Officials say it could carry about 13,000 people each day.
The full plan has 14 miles and 19 stations.
Boring says its tunnels can be built faster and cost less.
The real test starts when people ride.

Tesla has pushed its new Roadster reveal back by two weeks.

Tesla has added a new feature called Vehicle-to-Load.
It lets the car's battery power things outside the car.
The feature is now on 2027 Model 3 and Model Y cars.

THE NEXT BIG AI FIGHT MAY BE OVER ELECTRICITY, NOT JUST SMARTER SOFTWARE.

Elon Musk and Nvidia boss Jensen Huang say the US needs much more power.
They spoke at an event in Washington on September 29.
Huang said energy is the base that AI needs.
Musk said power supply and chip production both have to grow.
He sees China as a major rival in this race.
He also described a huge solar goal for SpaceX and Tesla.
The target is 200 gigawatts of solar production each year.
That is a goal, not power already being made.

TESLA JUST WON ANOTHER EUROPEAN YES, BUT THIS IS NOT DRIVERLESS FREEDOM.

Tesla says Croatia has approved its supervised Full Self-Driving software.
