Day 2 of the Leadership Growth Summit! šŸ™Œ

Today was packed with great conversations, real-world insights, and practical takeaways from leaders who have been there and done it.

A huge thank you to our Day 2 speakers — Ben Middleton with Daikin Comfort, Thaddeus Tondu with On Purpose Media, and Robin Siegel with Heartland Capital Advisors — for sharing their experiences, knowledge, and perspective with the room!

The goal of the Leadership Growth Summit isn’t to leave with a binder full of ideas. It’s to leave with real answers and a plan you can put to work Monday morning.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in Yorkville and made these two days so impactful! šŸ’š

Pricing R-454B or R-32 jobs the same way you priced R-410A? You might be leaving money on the table.

We talked to Russ Franklin, our Field Support Lead, about what's really changing with the HVAC refrigerant transition — training costs, tool costs, regional shortages, and why copying the contractor down the street's price "isn't much of a pricing strategy."

His advice: know your numbers, watch your costs more often, and stop guessing.

Full breakdown (plus a free Truck Roll Cost Calculator) here:

Prepare for the 2026 HVAC refrigerant transition by learning how to price R-454B and R-32 jobs effectively to ensure profitability amidst new costs.

Freedom isn't one thing. It's three.

1. Money: a business that makes profit on purpose, not by accident.
2. Time: systems that run without you in every single conversation.
3. Impact: something worth building for your team, your family, and your community.

That's the equation behind every session at MasterMind.

Day 1 of the Leadership Growth Summit included a behind-the-scenes tour of Fred F. Collis & Sons.

One of the coolest stops: their technician training room.

They have HVAC equipment lined up so technicians can practice, troubleshoot, and learn on real systems before doing it in a customer’s home.

That says a lot about how they approach growth.

Better technicians don’t happen by accident. You give them a place to learn.

Our latest TNFR Book Club discussion covered the first three chapters of Profit First, and the conversation connected directly to what we teach contractors every day.

One of Nicole’s takeaways brought us back to a simple idea: being busy doesn’t automatically mean being profitable.

Plumbing, HVAC, and electrical contractors deserve to price their work in a way that covers the business, creates healthy profit, and allows them to bring less financial stress home.

We also loved talking about the kids’ version, My Money Bunnies, which introduces simple money habits like spending, saving, and giving with intention.

We’re learning from the book—and from each other.

93% of customers distrust the service or repair person walking through their door to "help" them.

That number isn't about you. It's not possible that you personally went out and upset 93 out of 100 customers.

Something bigger changed, and it's the reputation the industry built long before your truck ever pulled up.
Understanding where that distrust comes from is the first step to fixing it.

What happens when a local Dalton, Georgia family business goes global? šŸŒŽ

The New Flat Rate started right here in Dalton, Georgia, when founder Rodney Koop built the company around a mission bigger than pricing:

We help contractors earn more—so they can bring less stress home. Because when service businesses thrive, families stay strong.

Today, his children Danielle Putnam, Melody, and Matt Koop are helping carry that mission forward.

What started as a local family business now serves TNFR members across the U.S. and internationally, including Canada and Australia.

From Dalton to contractors around the world, the mission remains the same:

Stronger businesses. Stronger families.

Matt’s already putting in work at Fred F. Collis & Sons

He spent today training with the Collis team before we kick off the Leadership Growth Summit tomorrow.

One of our favorite parts about being on-site at a member’s shop is getting to work with the team in their actual environment, talk through what’s happening in the field, and help put the process into practice.

A few behind-the-scenes shots from today šŸ“ø

Tomorrow, we get to bring a group of contractors into this same shop for two days of leadership, business growth, and real conversations with fellow trades people who get it.
