Paula Kelly was an American actress that began her acting career in 1968. She appeared in her first theatrical movie in 1969 called "Sweet Charity" and in 1971, she landed a significant role in "The Andromeda Strain." During the early 1970s, Kelly starred in several movies in the famed Blaxploitation era. In 1972, she appeared in "Cool Breeze," Top of the Heap," and "Trouble Man." While most of her roles were minor, she still had a strong presence on screen, earning some more substantial parts later.
She starred in "Soylent Green" and "The Spook Who Sat by the Door" in 1973, and in 1974, she starred in "Lost in the Stars," where she displayed her singing and dancing talents, some of her greatest attributes. However, her part in "Uptown Saturday Night" was one of her most memorable roles as the fierce and charismatic "Leggy Peggy." Kelly continued acting in film and T.V. throughout the mid to late 70s, appearing in "Drum," "Good Times," and "Kojak."
During the 80s, Kelly's career flourished. She appeared in several T.V. shows with reoccurring roles such as "Nights Court" and "Santa Barbra." She also had excellent parts in "Jo Jo Dancer, Your Life is Calling" (1986) and "The Women of Brewster's Place" (1989). She earned a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in "Night Court" and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or a Special for "The Women of Brewster Place." In the 1990s, Kelly continued her acting career in T.V. shows and films until 1999, when her acting credits stopped. She finished her career with 51 total acting credits. She passed away on Feburary 8th, 2020.
Paula Kelly was a phenomenal actress that was a joy to see on the screen. In addition, she was an excellent singer, dancer, and very charismatic. You knew you'd get someone who took her craft seriously when you saw her on screen.

The Best Salmon Patties Recipe

1 – 12 oz can pink salmon
2 whole eggs
1/4 cup chopped onions
1/4 cup chopped peppers
2 tablespoons yellow cornmeal
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Texas Pete’s hot sauce
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 slice of white bread, crumbled
1/4 cup flour, add slowly, if necessary, to adjust consistency.
Instructions:
Open the canned salmon and put it in a colander in the sink to drain.
Remove the large bones if you don’t want them. However, they are still edible.
Flake the salmon with a fork.
Place the flaked salmon in a large bowl.
Add two whole eggs.
Add chopped onions and peppers.
Add cornmeal
Add the salt
Add the garlic powder
Add the mayonnaise
Add Worcestershire sauce
Add Texas Pete’s Hot Sauce
Add ground black pepper
Crumble the slice of bread and put it in the bowl.
Gently mix the ingredients together, without overworking.
If the mixture is very wet, add flour if necessary to adjust the consistency.
Divide and form the mixture into four patties. Set aside.
Heat a skillet over medium heat and add shortening or oil for frying.
Place the patties in the pan and brown the bottom.
Gently turn the patties over and brown the other side.
When both sides are golden, remove from the pan and drain on paper towels.

Not long ago I had the pleasure of meeting one of my heroes. He invited me to lunch at his home and as we sat and talked and laughed, I got a chance to tell him how he had helped save my life. I shared with him that he taught me to dream a bigger dream by his example.  He was 100 years old at the time, but sharp as ever. Full of wisdom and great advice, and I took it all in.  Just before I left, I asked, “At 100 years old what are you looking forward to?”  Without any hesitation he said, “Tomorrow.”  It was such a simple but powerful lesson to live your life fully one day at a time. And One Day at a Time just happened to be the name of one of his many hit TV shows along with Maude, All in The Family, Good Times, Sanford and Son and so many other incredible shows. They were the only thing that brought laughter and joy to me as a child, who was living a daily nightmare. I’m so glad that I had the chance to say to him, thanks to his vision and his work, he gave me many “tomorrows” to look forward to. So today, sadly, I say goodbye and I salute a veteran. One who asked me to help put together a moment for him to say thank you to the surviving Redtail Tuskegee Airmen, he wanted to thank them for the escorts they provided him and others during World War II, which I did with Robin Roberts on GMA. It felt good to be able to do something for him.

A hero and someone who inspired me to try and bring as much laughter to the world as he bought to the little boy that I was. You sir are truly one of one!  I’m so glad we were on the planet at the same time. Thank you for your example. Rest in peace my dear friend, I thank God for you. My prayers are with your family.
Travel well, Mr. Norman Lear.
