Rhythm + Hue, a solo exhibition by Bay Area artist Stephanie Dennis, is now on view at Kriste Michelini Gallery.

Through color, line, shape, and movement, Dennis creates vibrant abstract works that feel both expressive and refined. Saturated, layered, and full of energy, the exhibition brings a joyful sense of rhythm to the gallery.

Swatt | Miers had already established the language: stone floors, wood ceiling planes, glass walls, and the Orinda hills as a fourth room.

Our role was to stay in conversation with the architecture. Same palette, same temperature, same restraint. Every detail had to respond to the house - the furniture, the textiles, the way light moves across the plaster.

The painting in the living room is the one moment that pushes against the quiet. A cityscape set against all that landscape. It creates just enough tension, and earns its place.

The brief was simple: a minimalist home for a family of five who actually lives in it.

I kept the walls white, chose a table that could handle real use, and let the color come from them. The helmet, the skateboard, the leather jacket.

The artwork spelling FAMILY in brand logos — Facebook, A for Alpinestars, etc. This is what it looks like when a home knows exactly who lives there.
