Got the call yesterday that the RMHC will be stopping cash donations by early 2027. While not shocking, they and McDonalds certainly have done all they can to make it happen.
Result: This post is from just Pittsburgh/Morgantown Chapter, round up is now 99 percent of donations. While impressive, it doesn’t show the active effort to decrease cash donations through poor decisions (or actively defensive decisions) to reduce cash donations through poor design of canisters, wall units and then the Post Covid move to even more Drive Thru, mobile and DoorDash type transactions.
I’ll be among those who stick it out but need to make sure I post this somewhere. I know I can’t be the only crazy person who saw this. I wish you all well (whoever is left in the group at this point) and hope you aren’t drastically affected by this discontinuation of this part of your business. NEPA Vending has been proud to provide cash collection service to the RMHC of various chapters for 13 years and will cease that service as ordered by RMHC in early 2027.
