💙 MEDICARE OPEN ENROLLMENT IS HERE! LET’S TALK ABOUT YOUR HEALTHCARE, YOUR OPTIONS, AND YOUR RIGHT TO ASK QUESTIONS! 💙
🏡 A message from Caregivers by Linda, LLC — proudly serving Boyle County and surrounding communities since 1999!
It’s that time of year again! Medicare Open Enrollment begins October 15 and runs through December 7, 2026.
Whether you’re reviewing your current coverage, considering changing insurance plans, helping an aging parent navigate their options, or simply trying to understand what benefits may be available, we want to encourage you to do one very important thing…
ASK QUESTIONS! LOTS OF THEM! 💙
📢 FIRST, AN IMPORTANT LOCAL HEALTHCARE UPDATE!
Ephraim McDowell Health recently issued a letter dated October 9, 2026, regarding ongoing contract negotiations with Humana.
According to the announcement, unless a new agreement is reached, Ephraim McDowell Health and its affiliated facilities and providers will be considered out of network for Humana Medicare Advantage plans beginning February 1, 2027.
We understand that news like this can be concerning, especially for individuals and families who have trusted their local healthcare providers for years.
Please remember, this is a potential change, not a reason to panic! Negotiations may continue, and an agreement could still be reached.
If you currently have Humana Medicare Advantage, we encourage you to contact your insurance company’s customer service department and ask:
💙 Will my specific plan be affected?
💙 Will my doctors and preferred hospitals remain in network?
💙 What happens if I need continued treatment?
💙 What out-of-network costs might I be responsible for?
💙 Are continuity-of-care or transition-of-care protections available?
Make informed decisions, and don’t feel pressured to make changes without understanding all your options.
🏡 NOW, LET’S TALK ABOUT SOMETHING THAT IS VERY NEAR AND DEAR TO OUR HEARTS… PERSONAL CARE AT HOME!
THIS MESSAGE IS FOR EVERYONE — NOT JUST HUMANA MEMBERS!
Whether your Medicare Advantage coverage is through Humana or another insurance company, we encourage you to ask about IN-HOME PERSONAL CARE BENEFITS!
Did you know that some Medicare Advantage plans offer supplemental benefits that may help eligible individuals receive assistance with everyday activities in their own homes?
Depending on your plan and eligibility, services may include:
💙 Assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene
💙 Meal preparation
💙 Light housekeeping and everyday household tasks
💙 Companionship and respite support for family caregivers
💙 Transportation and assistance with appointments
💙 Medication reminders
💙 Assistance with daily activities that help maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life
Not every Medicare plan includes these benefits, and coverage can vary significantly. Some Medicare Advantage plans may offer optional supplemental benefit packages, while others may not provide nonmedical personal care coverage at all.
That’s why it’s so important to ask BEFORE making your insurance decisions!
✨ QUESTIONS, QUESTIONS, QUESTIONS! AND WE WANT YOU TO ASK EVERY SINGLE ONE!
When meeting with your trusted, licensed insurance broker or speaking with your Medicare plan representative, don’t forget to ask:
✅ Does my Medicare Advantage plan include in-home personal care benefits?
✅ If not, are there other plans available in my area that offer these services?
✅ Are there optional supplemental benefits or packages I can add to my coverage?
✅ What are the eligibility requirements?
✅ How many hours of personal care assistance might be available?
✅ Will I have any additional out-of-pocket expenses?
✅ Can I choose my own personal care provider?
✅ Does your plan allow me to receive services through Caregivers by Linda, LLC?
And remember, even if you’re happy with your current doctors and healthcare coverage, it never hurts to understand ALL the benefits available to you!
🌷 SO, WHO IS CAREGIVERS BY LINDA?
Oh, we’re so glad you asked! 💙
Caregivers by Linda, LLC has proudly served Boyle County and surrounding communities since 1999!
For more than 27 years, our locally owned, women-owned agency has been dedicated to providing compassionate, dependable personal care services to individuals and families throughout our community.
We are proud to be Boyle County’s longest-serving personal care agency!
Our agency was built on a simple but meaningful belief:
Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, kindness, patience, and respect — especially when they need a little extra help.
We understand that inviting someone into your home to assist with personal care is a big decision.
We understand that families want reassurance, consistency, compassion, and caregivers who genuinely care about the people they serve.
We also understand that sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest difference.
A helping hand getting ready for the day.
A warm meal prepared with care.
A familiar face offering encouragement.
A little relief for a spouse, daughter, son, or family member who has been doing everything they can to care for someone they love.
To us, personal care has never been just about completing tasks. It’s about caring for PEOPLE. 💙
We’ve had the privilege of serving generations of local families, supporting individuals with disabilities, assisting older adults, providing respite to family caregivers, and helping people remain in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes.
And after all these years, our commitment to our community remains the same.
🏡 INTERESTED IN RECEIVING PERSONAL CARE SERVICES THROUGH CAREGIVERS BY LINDA?
Here’s what we encourage you to do!
1️⃣ TALK TO YOUR INSURANCE BROKER.
As you review your Medicare options, ask specifically about in-home personal care benefits and whether Caregivers by Linda is an available provider under the plans you’re considering.
2️⃣ CHOOSE THE COVERAGE THAT’S RIGHT FOR YOU.
Consider your doctors, hospitals, medications, healthcare needs, monthly costs, and any additional benefits that may support your independence at home.
3️⃣ ONCE YOUR BENEFITS ARE ACTIVE, CALL YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY!
Contact the customer service department listed on your insurance card.
Ask how to access or activate your in-home personal care benefits and let them know you would like to receive services through Caregivers by Linda, LLC.
Your insurance company can explain eligibility requirements, available providers, authorizations, and the steps necessary to begin receiving covered services.
4️⃣ LET’S TALK ABOUT YOUR CARE NEEDS!
If your plan provides coverage through our agency and you meet the applicable requirements, we would be honored to help you explore the next steps.
💙 A LITTLE REMINDER FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURS…
We know that navigating Medicare, insurance changes, and healthcare decisions can feel overwhelming.
Sometimes the terminology is confusing. Sometimes the options seem endless. And sometimes you simply don’t know which questions you should be asking.
That’s okay. Ask anyway!
You deserve to understand your coverage.
You deserve to know what benefits may be available.
You deserve to feel confident in your decisions.
And you deserve to have a voice in who provides your care.

Important reminder: Original Medicare generally does not cover ongoing nonmedical personal care when it is the only service needed. Certain Medicare Advantage plans may offer supplemental in-home support, subject to plan-specific coverage, eligibility, and provider requirements. Confirm benefits directly with your insurance company before making coverage decisions.
