As we prepare for the incoming weather, we ask that people use extreme caution when traveling. There is no way to know how bad this can actually be, or not be, since this is KY weather 😬. But if you do have to be on the roadways, please be prepared. We ask that you keep an extra blanket, coat, or any means of warmth, just in case of an accident, and you get stranded. It may also be wise to keep water, protein bars, granola bars or any kind of snack, just in case worse case scenario, you are stuck for long periods of time. Deputies will be out patrolling and helping stranded motorists, but remember, our resources may be thin due to the call volume we usually see during these events. So, please be patient as these Deputies tend to everyone!!
In case you do lose power or heat, or just need to warm up, there will be a warming center for individuals to utilize at the ROC. The attached flyer below has times of operation and address.
The flyer will be reposted each day that the warming center is open with hours of operation.
We will also be providing rides to employees of the hospital , nursing homes and assisted living facilities within Mercer County so long as we have deputies available and not on emergency calls.
Also essential medications can be picked up and delivered as well
Again, PLEASE use caution and stay home if at all possible!
Be safe and stay warm!!
-Chief Deputy Sean Brown
